Goddard Park Community Primary School

Pupils from Goddard Park Community Primary School made large ideal teachers and sent a letter to their local MP.

The school’s International Committee introduced ‘send my friend to school’ in a whole school assembly.

Each class made a large teacher puppet which listed the qualities that their ‘perfect’ teacher would have, and thought about how important education is to all children. The International Committee then collected the teacher puppets in, displayed them in a circle linking hands on a large floor map of the world.  They made a poster for the centre and photographed it. The chair and vice chair wrote a letter and sent this, with the photos, to their local MP.

In the International Committee meetings the group compared their education opportunities with those of our twin school in Kawangware in Nairobi, Kenya, where the children are in overcrowded classrooms.
