Our Young Ambassadors, George and Emily, have spent today speaking with politicians including Labour leader Ed Miliband about education for all, at the launch of the global campaign Action2015.
George and Emily were selected to be part of a group of fifteen 15 year olds, who will speak out on the issues they most care about to influence world leaders in the year that Sustainable Development Goals will be agreed at the UN summit.
At today’s launch event, Emily was selected to present Ed Miliband with a global letter about the urgent action world leaders need to take in 2015 to ensure the right decisions are made for people and planet.
Emily said: “I spoke to Ed Milliband and handed him our global letter. It was good to see that politicians are actually listening to the voices of young people in the run up to the Summits and aren’t just dismissing our ideas and visions for the future.”
Send My Friend to School is a partner of Action2015, which is bringing together over a thousand organisations in 120 countries to call on on local and world leaders to take urgent action to halt man-made climate change, eradicate poverty and address inequality.
