Theresa May has become the latest politician to take part in the Send My Friend campaign.
The Home Secretary visited Polehampton Junior School in Berkshire, where the children spoke to her about the 58 million children still being denied an education.
Students at the school made paper chain buddies with messages on to send to Mrs May.
Junior school headteacher Penny Litson said the Home Secretary’s visit was ‘really good’.
“The children presented what they had done about and she talked to them about the government’s resolve to get more children across the world into education,” she said.
The Home Secretary then had a question and answer session with year six pupils and Mrs Litson said the children were ‘very attentive’.
“The year six’s particularly had some quite challenging questions I think, but she answered them to their satisfaction,” she added.
